Aiya Dreaming is a young Australian artist with her BFA in fine arts, having graduated from National Art School 2022.  Majoring in Ceramics, her interest and engagement in the arts have a broad reach, encompassing film, fashion, photography, and painting.

Her playful and consciously naive approach to art-making taps into the spirit of her childhood in which art played a central role.

Her practice is embodied through a visual language of the unordinary, strange and wonderful which is intricately woven into her experience of being a child whose imagination was ignited by colour and form.

Aiya Dreaming also collaborates with independent film production house Strange Attractor in various roles: Actor, Art director, and Costumes department, recently completely their 3rd short film 5’12’’.

She has been involved in organising and curating multiple group exhibitions; In 2021 What Not, at Block J Studios, and again in 2023 ‘Song off Vowels’ Mallet St Studio.

She also has worked with lots of different artists as a studio hand such as Elisabeth Cummings and Harrie Fasher; and has assisted in local artist run events such as Fran O’Neils Drawing Intensive at the Portland Foundry.
